I did some more on my own and got rid of some of the files that were bad based on research I did that was causing my problems u can compare my previous logs to this one and see if I did something wrong, I think it is fixed atleast my popups stopped. I am new to all of this but a fast learner I hate getting beat by something I can not fix and this has been a challenge after u review all the info if there is a mistake i made or if I still have a problem let me know

Welcome to G2G's Malware Forum.

Very sorry for the delay. It's been busy.

You did a pretty good job cleaning up. There is a HJT Entry that could be considered optional, but recommended, to remove and Java needs updating. Let's get those and get another scan in.
  • Display Hidden Files Please set your system to show
all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below being careful to get only these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE<-----Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. "Slyware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Exit Hijack This.
  • Delete Files/Folders
Click Start>Search>For Files or Folders to find and delete the following file:

    ALCXMNTR.EXE
  • Update Java:

Click here to download the latest version of java ( Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9 ). Please install it and then reboot your computer.
  • Remove the older versions of Java:
    • Click Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
    • Delete all Java updates except J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
  • Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    Under Main choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.
  • Please run Bit Defender
Note: This Scan requires Internet Explorer to run.
    • read the EULA and click 'I agree' if you wish to proceed with scan
    • The Scanning Engine and Virus Definitions will now update.
You may receive a message about the scanning engine being updated and that you need to close Internet Explorer and reopen. If you recieve this message, close IE and reopen. Then navigate back to the Scanner.
    • Now click on Click Here to Scan
    • Your entire computer will now be scanned.
    • When the scan finishes, save the report for posting back here..

This could be a long scan so do it when you have at least two or three hours free.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs
    • BitDefender Results
    • New Hijack This Log
Let me know of any specific problems you are having now.

Hey HATTENATOR,

I may have missed something that may cause trouble.
  • I see that you are running two (2) Anti-Virus programs. While, in theory, that may sound like a good thing, it is actually not. Any time you have two AV's both with realtime protection running, you are more apt to have problems with them conflicting with each other and causing all kinds of problems. Please review the AV's listed below and decide which to keep and which to get rid of (or disable the realtime protection feature of one).
    • AVG 7.5
    • Norton AntiVirus 2004
Note: If you uninstall Norton, please run the Norton 2004 Removal Tool.
  • Go ahead and try that BitDefender Scan once you get one of the AV's uninstalled.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.

Sorry for the delay. We'll get it yet. Let's get rid of an entry and it's related file and try a different scan.
  • Display Hidden Files Please set your system to show
all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below being careful to get only these:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tlmvhfb.dll] C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\tlmvhfb.dll,rdgspvf

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Exit Hijack This.
  • Reboot into safe mode.
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.
  • Delete Files/Folders
Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these files (if present):

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\tlmvhfb.dll
  • After that, Reboot.
  • I need you to download MWav to a convenient location.

This scan might take around 3+ hours to finish when set to scan everything.
I need you to run MWav by double-clicking on mwav.exe.
Put a check next to the below items before scanning:
    • Memory
    • Startup Folders
    • Drive - All Local Drives
    • Folder - then click "browse" to change the directory to C: (default is C:\Windows)
    • Registry
    • System Folders
    • Services
    • Include Sub-Directory
    • Scan All Files
Please make sure ALL of these are checked, then press the Scan button. This typically will take hours to complete.

**NOTE*** Sometimes MWav will pause and it appears to be finished, but it isn't done. Just let it run until it says it's complete.

On the bottom portion of the window, you will see the lower panel where MWav is listing "infected items". When it's done scanning, please highlight everything in that lower panel and copy them by holding CTRL + C then paste it here. The whole log will be extremely BIG so there is no way to post the log. I just need the infected items list.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.

Hi Hattenator,

I'm not so sure that smitfraud is gone. Let's delete the previous version and get the absolute newest version.
  • Please find the SmitfraudFix.zip that you downloaded earlier and delete it. Also, delete the folder you created on your desktop titled SmitfraudFix.
  • Please re-download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply, along with any other requested logs.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs
  • SmitfraudFix Report
  • New Hijack This Log

Sorry for the delay HATTENATOR, I had to have some wisdom teeth removed. Log looks pretty good. The MWav results don't show anything. The locked objects you asked about are common. They are registry entries that MWav flags, but they are not necessarily bad. These errors can be eliminated from the scan by not checking the "Registry" box during the MWav setup directions.

Let's get rid of a couple Hijack This Entries.
  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below being careful to get only these:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
    O4 - Global Startup: Compaq Connections.lnk = C:\Program Files\Compaq Connections\1940576\Program\BackWeb-1940576.exe

ALCXMNTR.EXE<-----Go to Start>Search>For Files or Folders to find this one.
    C:\Program Files\Compaq Connections\1940576\Program\BackWeb-1940576.exe

  • Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
  • Post Logs
  • New Hijack This Log

Are you still having the trouble running the scans that we tried earlier?

Also, are you still having your pop-up problem or is it fixed?

Let me know.

:whistling:
