Hello,

I have a computer which I believe is infected. I have ewido, avast, cc cleaner, spybot, and system security suite with I run often, however, some programs which previoulsy ran efficiently have problems.
Notably Yahoo messenger is very unstable, I've reinstalled it numerous times to no avail. It opens and will perform normal for a while then it unpredictably shuts down with an error reporting message. Could a bug be the culprit? I have posted a hijack this and smit fraud fix log. thank you

Hi jreed1980,

Hopefully you got my Private Message, all I need to know is were you able to download and run either or both tools??

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingc.../Fixwareout.exe
  • Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
  • The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
  • You will be asked to reboot your computer,
  • Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
  • Report.txt should be genrated at the end of the fix.
  • Once the desktop loads-> Open HijackThis-> Click "Do a System Scan Only" and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{01D8C16F-8279-4B49-928C-DBFB51B98A25}: NameServer = 85.255.113.124,85.255.112.82

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{2AF72B20-BA38-49C0-AC36-EB056CC1EA46}: NameServer = 85.255.113.124,85.255.112.82

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{51AB6037-4D7A-4FEB-A80E-38AEE40BF166}: NameServer = 85.255.113.124,85.255.112.82

    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.113.124 85.255.112.82

    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{01D8C16F-8279-4B49-928C-DBFB51B98A25}: NameServer = 85.255.113.124,85.255.112.82

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.113.124 85.255.112.82

Now Make sure ALL WINDOWS and BROWSERS are CLOSED and hit the Fix Checked Button

Now open the Control Panel-> In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Click the Networking tab. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically

Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable one some systems.

Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)

Please download Combofix to your desktop.
http://download.blee...Bs/combofix.exe

Doubleclick combo.exe to launch the application.

Follow the prompts that will be displayed on the screen.

Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt

Please post that log in the next reply along with report.txt and a fresh HijackThis log.

Thanks a lot, I followed all the instructions except for the first two links you gave me in the personal email. I tried to reconfigure my DNS setting to auto but my cpu never detected it. So I had to put them in manually. Here are the new logs you requested. thanks a lot.

That takes care of Ware Out,only one file left to delete.

Locate and Delete this file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\{DB3D7275-F94D-47EB-8AFD-CF0BF2CB32D4}.exe

Im attaching the Prevx tool to this post.

Download to the Desktop and Unzip.

Double Click FixGrom.exe to run the tool.

It will scan the system quickly and tell you if it detects the infection.

Even if it doesnt find anything, follow the prompts to continue running the tool anyways.

The tool should reboot the machine and run the cleaning process.

A log of what happened will be located on your C:\ drive

I forget the exact name of the log but should be obvious.

Post that log in the next reply please.

I have all of my IP's and DNS numbers, so when it dumped them I inserted them in so I have no problems connecting to the internet. Here is the log you requested...I believe it killed the trojan I had.
