If you are comfortable with that.

Please first go to to Start > Run
Type:regedit
Click OK.
  • On the leftside, click to highlight My Computer at the top.
  • Go up to "File > Export"
    • Make sure in that window there is a tick next to "All" under Export Branch.
      Leave the "Save As Type" as "Registration Files".
      Under "Filename" put backup
  • Choose to save it to C:\ or somewhere else safe so that you will remember where you put it (don't put it on the desktop!)
  • Click save and then go to File > Exit.
This is so the registry can be restored to this point if we need it. It may take a minute. Just let it go until it's done.

Just confirming that you got the right values.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore]
"DisableSR"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sr]
"Start"=dword:00000000

Regards,

That is OK. :whistling:

Glad we could help.

What puzzles me is how this happened?
Do you have any idea about that?

The way the restrictions were set, made me wonder if you were using a computer that came from a corporate network, where that kind of policies are forced on workstation users.

Please do have a look at my site about removing and preventing spyware.

it started when I was downloading an update for Nero 7- all of a sudden I got many pop ups, and from there I could not right click.
