then you dont need yahoo toolbar with antispy you can always remove it from add/remove programs
same with yahoo mail....just keep messenger

msn messenger is pretty good too its been used alot on my computer thats another one to consider
its pretty much the same as yahoo as far as the pm or lm window goes

look in your add/remove programs and see if your down load of java went there it should be the latest
it could be a problem if its not there .....one be sure you only have one java installed

as for the trojan malware experts can deal with that.....heres some info .... > http://www.unspyme.com/current.htm <....its a trojan alright but not as malicous
as others

I didn't get to java yet, but did download Trillian and am trying it out. I still like Yahoo cause you can send offline messages and insert images but we do what we can with what we have. I t hink Trillian's skins leave much to be desired, not sharp enough, bothers the eyes, but that's life.

I will be attempting this Java thing later.

Thanks for your concern. Will let you know.

As far as Trojan is concerned, I'm woried about sending someone something bad over internet as I am involved in transferring many photos of my wife's musical carreer to daughters in Montreal, QC. Does that problem exhist.?

I don't know if I'm in the right place, but I'm trying to advise the Malware specialists on this site that for all intents and purposes, my problem seems to be solved.

Thanks a heap for everything

I thought i was done with this, but one small glitch remains. I removed Logitech Desktop Manager as per instructions earlier this week, however now I get the following error dialogue box.

RUNNER ERROR
Runner file name(LogitechDesktopManager.exe lacks a '-'(the app.id separator)

This happens with every startup.

Prefetch is clickable for more information

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Reboot

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run defragmenter

Download, install and run
Tune Up 2006 Trial

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Disable the anti virus programme then click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Check the anti virus programme is running

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

Click optimize and improve then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor
