Hello all
I hope someone can advise me concerning this problem. I have an IBM ThinkPad X41. I have enabled Fast User Switching but when given the option the logoff or switch user, I choose switch user and I return to the welcome screen, and when entering the password for the intended user I get a temporary "blue sceen of death" which passes too quickly to read/analyze. The machine then reboots. I have contacted Lenovo concerning this issue and there answer is "yep, that's a known issue". No solution! Great customer support.

Can anyone advise?

Thank you

In safe mode:

Right click MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES, choose ADVANCED, choose the SETTINGS button in the Startup And RECOVERY section, and uncheck AUTOMATICALLY RESTART

Now try to switch users. This should result in the BSOD error staying up on the screen...report the STOP ERROR and any parameters.

in light of the fact that lenovo says it's a known issue...and didn't offer a sollution....this may not be something we can do anything about...but..we'll see what happens right?

Thank you DSENETTE have printed your reply and will try it soon. As fate would have it, my hard drive went south between the time I posted the problem and the time you replied. I am sitting waiting for a new one from Lenovo. Thanks be for external drives - all is backed up and revcoverable but still a pain in the rear to reinstall everything.

Thanks for your advice
