Is there a way i can set the resolution for an application outside of it. For example, i have a game that doesnt let me choose the resolution i need for my monitor. Can i specify the exact resolution i want to run the application with in some other way?

There is a freeware program that allows you to change resolution on the fly called MultiRes.

Download here:

http://www.entechtai...l/multires.shtm

I have set up shortcut keys to change resolution depending on what app. I am using PowerPro (freeware) in conjuction with MultiRes to set the hot keys.

PowerPro downloaded here:

Not sure this is what you're looking, but the 2 programs together make for a great on the fly resolution changer.
