Did you run all the recommended tools in that topic I posted ? If not please do so
next.
Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT
Move HJT into this new folder please don't want it sitting in a Temp folder.

Next,
Reboot to safe mode, ( By tapping the F8 key onstart up)
Go to Add/Remove programs, search for and remove
Media Access

Reboot and post back a fresh Log please

Hi again

Would you also be able to tell me why everytime I my computer, I get the error message that the system was shutdown improperly and runs scandisk?

Probably cause you have a couple nasty critters running on your system, Lets see if we can get your system cleaned up to see if that takes care of it,

Lets try this one more time HJT is still shown sitting in a Temp folder,
Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT
Move HJT into this new folder please don't want it sitting in a Temp folder

In your log it shows,
C:\WINDOWS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES\CONTENT.IE5\9PAF4DIJ\HIJACKTHIS[1].EXE

I need it to look like
C:\HJT\HIJACKTHIS.EXE

Next I need you to disable
WINPATROL. Rember to reset it when we are done,,,

Next thing I need you to do is, This is very important to run this program
Dowload the following program
CWShredder
It should be the current version, but check for updates
Run Program cwshredder and have it fix anything it finds.
Make sure you click the “Fix” button

Restart your computer,

Please open HJT> Click on the Config button> Click >Misc. Tools > Click > Open Process manager> Highlight “
SYSCX.EXE
SCRSVC.EXE
“ >Click> Kill process>
Next click the scan button and put a check mark next to the following, close all open windows , Click “ Fix Checked”

Here's the new log after I followed your instructions, however, when I rebooted I my computer still ran scandisk. I wasn't able to locate: ADDYR32.DL, SYSCZ.EXE, SCRSVC.EXE or P2PNETWORKING.EXE when I was in safe mode.

How are you shutting down your computer ?

Also have HJT fix this one
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://letgohome.com/sp.htm?id=641

Please run these two online scans. Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

You should try to delete any files that these scanners are unable to clean. Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

Then scan again with HijackThis and post another log.

I go to start, shut down and then the computer turns off. I used to only get that message if the computer locked up and I had to power it down tp restart it. I ran the scan and it found some infected files but I wasn't able to delete the files on e0ther program, because on the first one it said the files were in use. They were a lot of temp (restore) files. I will attach the log I saved from Active Scan.

Hi again fstarks74

Ok now I can see way,, A bit of cleaning here to do,,

First,
Go to Add/Remove programs search for and remove if found, don't worry if you can't find them
SearchAid
BargainBuddy
eXact Search Bar
ShopAtHome
ShopAtHome.com
ShopAtHomeSelect

Next,

First:
Download AboutBuster
Then Unzip it to your desktop.. “Don’t run it yet”
Check it for updates if any are found please download them then close out the program

Download and install Cleanup

Also
Dowload the following program
CWShredder
It should be the current version, but check for updates
“Don’t run it yet”

Please download and install Ad-aware.
Setting up Ad-aware- please make sure you update it first

Download and unzip cwsserviceremove to your desktop from the link below:
cwsserviceremove.zip (save this to your desk top don’t do anything with it till told to do so)

Next: Reboot to safe mode, The following to be done in safe mode
Run About Buster twice in safe Mode Save the logs it generates,

Next,
Run Program cwshredder and have it fix anything it finds.
Make sure you click the “Fix” button

Next,
Open Cleanup! Click on clean up now and let it run,
When it has finished click NO to reboot now.

Next,
Scan with AdAware have it remove what it finds

Restart your computer,

Run About Buster twice again please, Rescan with Active Scan, Again save the log from it and post back all the logs from AboutBuster and Active scan.
