Skybroad and wireless connection

Hi, i have joined Sky broadband which I have been on for a couple of weeks now. The router on this computer is working fine but I have been trying to connect my daughters computer to it as well with no success. I have a Speedtouch 121g Wireless Adapter upstairs and have set up the IP address etc for it. It is blinking away on the task bar saying that the connection is excellent but when I click on internet explorer it says it cant find the serve and wont go online. Her computer is also Windows XP. Anyone any ideas, please.
