Hi folks, was thinking of upgrading our surfing pc. its a fujitsu siemens. the motherboard is a p4ge-fsc. we have a celeron 2600mhz cpu on it now and were wondering if it supported p4 or p4ht or if a new motherboard is in order. the chipset is intel brookdale-g i845ge if thats any help. The mobo is so hard to find info on online!

The MB is made for F-S by Asus and is limited to the 533 FSB and a 478 processor. It does NOT have Hyper support so you are limited to P4-533 bus processors. You will be lucky to find any Northwood processors except refurbished ones. I havent seen any at all lately. It is wasting your time to try upgrading this. Newegg has a P4 2.8 cpu for $70 but that is not enough of a speed jump for the money. I think its time for a MB/CPU/Memory upgrade to speed things up.
