Indeed. I simply followed some instructions my friend linked me too:
Another for XP:
1. Click start, and run %PROGRAMFILES%\MSN Messenger
2. In the list of files, click right-click MSNMSGR, and then click
Properties.
3.In the Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab, and then clear
the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box.
4.Click OK.
5.then start messenger

Quite simple really i suppose. However whilst browsing i did finda large amount of alternate solutions, but this one worked for me luckily.

By theway keith, the instructions you gave me, especially the Tune Up trial 2006 really have speeded my PC up, thank you.
