When I go to a website that has a link to a javascript(popup) page, and I try to click on the link, it doesn't come up. I was wondering if you could help me. My system is completely clean, I run virus scanners and ad/spyware removers about 3 times weekly, so I know its not that.

One example of something I cannot view is: www.live365.com/stations/xwarpradio

all of those javascript pop-ups are inaccessible to me. and all image files at www.live365.com do not show up. they just come up as the traditional 'x' in the box. help me please. I've been searching the internet day and night trying to find solutions, and i know its not a spy/adware problem. help please!

If you're using Internet Explorer, first check your security settings. On the toolbar click Tools -> Internet Options, click the Security tab and move the slider to medium.

I've tried messing with the security settings so many times, it's not even funny... lol. I have Microsoft VM and Java (Sun) if that helps any. I'm beginning to think this problem is not fixable. But I've still got hope as long as I'm posting on this board :-)

Try removing your MS java virtual machine, it's no longer supported and full of security holes. Start -> Run... type or copy and paste in the following and hit return: rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall

Ignore the scary error about not being able to download from the Internet.

Make sure your Sun Java is up-to-date:
http://java.com/en/index.jsp
click on free download.

I uninstalled it successfully, but I'm still having the problems. I updated Sun Java also.

1. Enable the JRE through your Web browser
2. Enable the JRE through the "Java™ Plug-in Control Panel"
3. Clearing your Web Browser Cache

I tried all of those, but nothing fixed it. But what I did find interested is that one of the Java Tech trouble shooters told me that if i see the x in the box to go to tools, then internet options, then click on the connections tab, then LAN Settings. I do not have anything in any of the boxes. Automatically detect is on, and they told me to copy what was in the first address box, and put it in the second one and that will fix my problem, but i have nothing in those boxes. if you can further aid me, i would appreciate it. thanks

It seems to me that you're having some type of security setting, or outside influence blocking Java. Are you behind any type of corporate, college, or other firewall? Is this computer part of a network domain? Many system administrators disable Java because it can be a security threat.

Have you tried removing and reinstalling Sun Java?
