I picked up Trojan.Agent.jh from a Torrent, (just deserts for trying to deprive Mr Gates of a few $).
It was detected by AVG Anti-Spyware after I had opened the Torrent
It is Quarantined in the AVG vault at the moment.
I have reset the internet settings that I assume were altered by the trojan.
I have scanned the system with AVG anti-virus & anti-spyware, Norton Internet Security, Ad-Aware,
Spybot S&D & have found no other malware.
I have run CCleaner & cleaned the system as well as ATF cleaner, set a restore point & dumped the old points. I then ran AVG Anti-spyware in safe mode to find 20!! new medium risk cookies ( amazing for about 1 hour of surfing to find a cure) which I have removed.
Next was the Hijackthis scan & here I am, seeking your advice!!
The only obvious changes to the system now are;
Only 1 of the original Post screens appears on start up.
Considerably longer time to load Windows & user settings.
Slowed internet speed, which is only about 4.5Kbps average here in rural Queensland
The infected file is; C:\System Volume Information\_restore
{029261CC-4F7D-4774-848A-7AA7824EF412}\RP159\A0017301.exe
I would like to know how to return the system to its previous state & how to safely remove the trojan from the System Volume Information folder which AVG wasn't able to do.
