all was working fine untill once i was in a hurry and switched off my computer by switching it of from the plug. as soon as windows starts up a blue screen comes up with a viamraid.sys error in it.

can any one help me out?

do i have to format my hard disk?

if yes, how can i copy My Documents folder to another drive? because i bought an ICY BOX to put my currupted hard disk in and connected it to my laptop through USB and i got an access denied when i tried copying My Documents folder to my laptop hard disk.

Have you tried booting up your laptop and logging on to the 'Administrator' account instead of your personal account? That should give you access to your documents folder on the external drive. I think you have to boot into safe mode to see the Admin account on the welcome screen.
