Hi, I've been having these popups for the past few weeks. I've been reading this forum..and am aware of the "must do's" prior to posting ones log...and I tried to follow your directions..but for some reason, whatever virus I have is giving me an error whenever I try to run ad-aware. It gives me the blue screen w/ an c0000145 error I believe....first there was another blue screen error...until I renamed my computer...this is the first time I've gotten it.

Last week while I was reading this site, I dl'ed avg (I think thats it), vundofix, look2me, adaware, search and destroy, pandascan...and maybe something else...none of it got rid of this garbage...so here's my hijack this log...hopefully you can help me. Once again, I apologize for not doing exactly as the instructions said...the errors were just not allowing me to do that. Thank you.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Replace on Reboot
    • then check the Use Dummy box.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\cat437.dll


  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

After the reboot run HijackThis and put a checkmark before these items:

I did not receive the PendingFileRenameOperations prompt after I ran killbox.

C:\!Killbox which should be cat437.dll

I'd like to have a look at it, to see if we need to do more.

You did it correctly, but .... you uploaded the wrong file.

You uploaded Killbox.exe, but I need the content of the C:\!Killbox folder
That is the folder where Killbox stores it's backups.
It is not always able to make those.
Can you check if the folder exists?
Note the "!" sign in the name.
