The following is a system description:
Compaq Presario 5000 (prolem in and of itself... )
WinXP SP2
32 MB Ram
The owner does not know if this system came with restore "discs" and if it did, she doesn't know where they are...and of course, Compaq really isn't all that cooperative...
The case is clean and experience this even with the case open it is still subject to reboots...
I have run Spybot: Search and Destroy which found "Wild Tangent" which I have removed and immunized against...
If I attempt to download or even install the free version of AVG Anti-Virus the system will reboot...
I have attempted to change the boot order from the bios to attempt to test the memory with both MemTest86 and the Microsoft Memory test (booting from a floppy) but in each and ever case, I get the "non-system disk" error message...I initially thought maybe it was a bad floppy drive, which I swapped out with one I had that I know works...
I've attached a copy of the HiJack This log to see if anyone can find anything that might lead to a solution...
Many thanks in advance...
