Do your forums occasionally load without showing all the flashy "forum GUI" ? There has been a few times where I've gone here, and like now, the background is all white, but all the text, smilely faces, and links show up fine. WEIRD YO.

Well, if you are satisfied then I am most certainly satified, thank you for your help in finding those last sneaky files in there.

I have a follow up question, if perhaps when you close my topic, you could answer and then leave it, but a few days ago, when I was trying to locate weird processes running in the background that were taking up lots of CPU %, I deleted a RTVscan dll or something, and now every time my PC reboots, it "BONKS!" at me, saying that it could not be found, and then proceeds to load everything else up fine. I guess that I deleted an semi important windows system file? I don't know what RTVscan stands for, but it shows up as "SYSTEM" under User Name underneath the Proceses tab.

Anyway, thank you for taking time to help me! Is it possible to donate Paypal if I don't have an account?

rtvscan belongs to Symantec Internet Security Suite. It is responsible for the execution of real-time virus-scanning in order to detect virus infected files as they enter your system. Its not showing up as missing. Did you delete the sctual file? If so check your recycle bin and see if its there.

As for the forums, with firefox I have seen it do that occasionaly

I wonder if its bonking at the leftover I missed :whistling:

Please run a scan with HijackThis and check the following lines for removal:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvgaz.dll,startup

Now close ALL other open windows except for HijackThis and hit FIX CHECKED. Exit HijackThis.

Sorry, I'm trying to get caught up :whistling: The log looks good, no malware to be found. How is everything running?

The system appears to be running fine. I am unable to install a batch of the latest WindowsXP system updates, mostly for the Office products (all valid, legal) and a few Windows.

These updates wont install:

Security Update for Word 2003 (KB923094)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB923088)
Security Update for Publisher 2003 (KB894542)
