Since this will be my first time using an external HD Case and there are so many out there, can a few people that have some experience with them drop a couple of lines on which you recommend I should buy?

The enclosure doesnt really matter on looks just get one with the features you are wanting.


Its cheaper to get the enclosure by itself along with a harddrive by itself then you can install the harddrive in the enclosure with simple plug and play and a screwdriver..

Do you want one just usb or do you want firewire?? Firewire isnt available on every motherboard so you have to find out if you even have it. Usb is the better choice because everyone has a usb hookup so if you ever want to use it on others pc's. Firewire is faster though.

Get a 7200rpm harddrive aswell.

Heh you can see me PC's setup in mySignature. Course i got firewire its a brand new motherboard. Unfortunately my other PC which is a old 2.4ghz P4 doesnt have firewire so yea Ill be sticking with Usb2.0 hookup since ill be using them on both pc's swapin files. I deffinately dont care what it looks like so thats not what I was really asking about, yes ill be getting a 7200rpm, im not casing a raptor no, gonna be a couple 320gb Sata II WD's. I was going to add that price is not an issue since yes I would rather spend more and get something thats made well and doesnt break then something cheap. I prolly should have added that since im in Canada newegg doesnt apply to me but Ncix.com and Tigerdirect.ca is where I shop for my stuff.

So really Im just looking for some enclosure names that anyone perhaps baught from one of those 2 sites and that have served them with no troubles.
