can someonegive me an idea as to what to do. I was trying to set up a home network on my Me machine and it crashed. it tells me i need to reinstall windows but when i use my "dell reinstallation disk" i get to 65% and a message which says SVWIN error general protection module verx.dll.0002:24ae pops up.
what do it mean

The problem is due to either a new version of Windows Media Player and/or Internet Explorer. The way to fix each one is listed below:

Boot your computer using the WindowsME bootable floppy. If you don't have one you can download it here: http://www.bootdisk.com At the command prompt type the following commands, followed by enter after each line.

To fix IE:

Rename c:\windows\system\iemigrat.dll *.old

Rename c:\program files\Internet Explorer\W2k\migrate.dll *.old

Rename c:\program files\outlook express\9xmig.dll *.old

To fix WMP:

Rename c:\windows\system wmp*.dll *.old

Rename c:\windows\system wmp.ocx *.xoc

Rename c:\program files\windows media player wmp

After that, run setup again. <_<
