Hey, I have a Toshiba Satellite A-30 laptop that is about 2.5 years old. Recently it has been crashing anytime I try to run a program such as iTunes for any period of time, burn a CD, adAware, Skype or if I have too many apps open. It's driving me nuts. Usually the fan speeds up right before it goes down.

Here is the logfile from hijackthis;

Any help or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

you should post that logfile over in security and let them look at it.

As for the crashing problem, there could be a lot of reasons for that. Seeing that the laptop is 2.5 years old, I would give it a thorough cleaning. Here's a good article on how to do it. You could have a considerable amount of dust, lint etc built up inside causing it to overheat and reboot.

If it still reboots after cleaning and security gets the malware cleaned up, post back here and we'll examine it further....

edit....as to that compressed air....don't shake it, keep the can upright, use short bursts.

Hey, I bought a can of air and did the cleaning. It seems to be working so far. I can't thank you enough. If I still have issues, I'll be back to post the logfile. Thanks again
