It will not let me update windows xp so i have a really old version it always gives me an error

Click start then run, type services.msc then press enter, check automatic updates is set to automatic and started, check cryptograhic services is set to automatic and started

you could clear out your windows update folder that might stop you from installing them

GO search from start ...click on all files and folders...type in windowsupdate
click search...right click on the one that looks like notepad..open it...edit...select all...right click any blue file ..click delete follow the prompts save changes ..replace folder or file..folder should be empty

try updates again
