Does this only happen with files that require this codecs?

Try changing the hardware acceleration level down.

Yes it will. What i'm trying to establish what the problem is and to do that we need to troubleshoot.

Uninstall your drivers and reinstall the latest.
Uninstall your codec packs and reinstall them.
