Good afternoon,

I am trying to help my parents get back their IE from the clutches of the pain-in-the-arse CoolWebSearch Malware. They are using an old machine with Windows 98. I suspect that maybe they got this through my dad's work website, where he is using Microsoft Java Virtual Machine to check his work schedule, etc., online. Here is what I have tried so far to fix the problem:

Ran AdAware SE: Finds about 26 critical issues (including one browser hijacking attempt), but when I go to delete them, nothing happens.

Ran CWShredder: Doesn't find anything (and I did update to the latest version).

Ran HijackThis scan and save log: Here is the log file:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Any and all help is appreciated as far as how I should proceed from here. Also, doesn't Sun have some kind of Java ap that I can use to get rid of the Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine?

Cheers,
Ryan
