okay i realized after the fact i hit the wrong key when i went into my CMOS settings now i can NOT start it ...would replacing the motherboard cure the problem ? thanx for any thoughts

Just disconnect the power, and remove the battery for at least five minutes. Then replace the battery reconnect the power and startup. The BIOS should return to the default settings.
