When ever I am playing counter strike, after a short period of playing, it will freeze up... now either when it freezes up, I will get the BSOD telling me about this 'nv4_disp'
If I dont get the BSOD it will unfreeze and then just continue on with the game(then freeze up again after a short period of playing)

Im not sure what this is.
Ive tried updating which gave me ALOT of problems.
I cant even begin to list what the problems were...

This is what Ive already done, http://www.geekstogo...howtopic=136557

Try uninstalling your existing Nvidia drivers and install the latest.
The Geforce drivers can be downloaded from the Nvidia website.

Try using Driver Cleaner to remove your drivers, restart and then install the latest.

You mean you ran Driver Cleaner and that didn't work?
Does it still happen if you lower the graphics settings in the game?

What do you mean lower the graphics settings in the game?

And Driver Cleaner did work, I uninstalled the driver with it and downloaded the latest driver.
But the problem still is here.

Im not sure if you can do that in CS.

And if you could turn off the smoke in CS that would basicly be hacking/cheating because of the smoke grenades.

Check your event logs to see if there's any errors in them.

Click start > click run > type eventvwr.msc > click ok.
Look under system and application for errors with red Xs than happened at the same time as the problem and then list them with your reply. (Double clicking the error message with display more details).
