:whistling:

I keep getting the error "ping.com is not a valid Win32 application". I get internet on my computer when my modem is connected directly to the pc. However, when I try to use my wireless router, I get squat. So I call my local technical support line (with my isp provider) and they try to use the ping.exe method. Well when I type in ping zzz.zzz.zzz.zz I get this error message!

This also happens when I try to access the "CMD" application through the "run" program on the start menu. (I am using XP.)

Also, when I reboot my computer, when loading... the computer gives me two error messages.

here they are...

1. w00422b7.dll could not be opened or found
2. woo4o3e4.dll could not be opened or found

I have run a full virus scan several times and when finding viruses I quarentine the files. I am doing so using Norton Anti-virus. I run my live updates on automatic and keep up with them all the time. Before I renewed my subscription to live update, I did get a nasty virus that gave me pop ups and all sorts of trouble. But since purchasing a new license to Norton... I haven't had any other trouble besides the information I posted above.

PLEASE HELP ME! I would just like to use my wireless router again. In order to do this I NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX CMD AND PING.EXE.

Thanks

Download pocket killbox from http://www.thespykil...les/killbox.exe & put it on the desktop where you can find it easily

now Start killbox paste the first file listed below into the full pathname and file to delete box

The file name will appear in the window and if the file exists it will appear in blue under that window then select standard file kill, press the red X button, say yes to the prompt and once the file deleted message comes up then repeat for each file in turn

C:\WINDOWS\system32\CMD.COM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netstat.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedit.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tasklist.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tracert.com
===========================

http://www.thespykil...=tpmod;dl=item5
Scroll down to the download section

Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
