I was trying to get something on the windows xp cd my big brother gave me , and , after I rebooted , my computer would not boot up correctly.
I Tried the chat , and was told to try to use the recovery console , but my cd doesn't have it...
In the partition screen , it says that all the space on the partition is free and that its [unknown].
I didin't reformat or anything , I just don't know whats going on , please , someone help me save my stuff.
Thanks uu60

I think the simplest thing would just be to repair the os.

I think the drive is too "corrupted" , because it can't find an installation.
I guess I'll just reformat now :whistling:

remember we are working blind so bare with us
to help others reply to your question
if you haven't mentioned it yet:
- what model of computer
- what os, XPpro or home
- laptop or desktop
- how old is it

to topic then
- what exactly happened
- to what stage did the repair go
- can you slave it elsewhere to recover data first
- do you have the drivers and cd programs to reinstall

Actualy , you can mark this as resolved , I just formated :whistling:
But on that note , how do you uninstall the language tool bar?
And when I customize which buttons are hidden on the bottomright button thing , they always undo themselves after each restart , how can I stop that?
