HEllo everyone....
ummm i have recently got CS 1.6 and CZ and its steam powered...
I have played for a while and recently i have noticed (it anoyed the [bleep] out of me ) that everytime theres an enemy near by i cant move my move the game lags so i was woundering if there a way to fix that.
Also in the steam options u can set up your internet connection speed but it only helped a little bit...
any advice or console commands???

or does my internet suck???

When I am playing CS i have these kind of unusual problems.
My average ping is about 40-90
When I have ping of around 34 I still lag, it is not a constant lag. It is like between intervals of 4 minutes the game freezes for about 10seconds. Then it returns to its normal state.
Sometimes when the ping is around 90 the players running becomes a little choppy, and also it has the problem listed above.
I really do not understand the problem.

RAM-1014mb
Direct X v10
1.5mbps connection

Well, CS works perfectly, the thing is, everytime a click a key that moves me or my screen it freezes,/lags, i can watch people play but when i click keys like the spacebar, ctrl,up,left,right,back,(arrows/wasd), it lags, any suggestions?

Who's your ISP? What programs are you running in the background? What rates are you playing CS with?

To find out what rates you're playing with do the following:

Open the console (` key by default)
[If the console doesn't open, go to Options -> Keyboard -> Advanced -> Enable Developer Console)
Type each of the following, followed by enter

rate
cl_cmdrate
cl_updaterate

The default ones are generally 20000, 101, 101

You could try these instead:

rate 15000
cl_cmdrate 30
cl_updaterate 30

rate 18000
cl_cmdrate 70
cl_updaterate 70

Generally, the updaterate + cmdrate should be that of your average frames per second.
