I've been having trouble with this Sixty Six Pop-Up. I've ran my anti-virus and ad-aware programs multiple times but it never takes care of the problem. I tried going to MsConfig and I unchecked a few boxes that looked like SpyWare, It even had a Sixty Six check box which I unchecked. It still comes up though. I'd appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks.

I cant tell you anything about the Highjack This log, but I had a problem with the sixty six pop ups as well. I went to Start>Run>msconfig>Startup and found it and disabled the start up for it. Then while trying to remove DrWatson I was in safe mode with all the hidden files and the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) box uncheck so I could see everything. Anyways, if you do all of that go to C:\Windows\System32 and look for sixtypopupsix file. Im not sure if its spelled just like that but im sure you know how its spelled. When I found the file I deleted it and im pretty sure its still gone. Just make sure you do all of this in safe mode and remember to set the hidden files back when you reboot. Hope this helps.

Hi Disposable Hero and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. I want you to install, configure, update and run both Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware according to the instructions provided at the bottom of my Post in the signature pane. Remember to REBOOT after each one.

4. Next, because of the amount of malware present in your log, I want you to UNINSTALL the following programs using the ADD/REMOVE programs feature in your control Panel:

Windows Ad Status
Wild Tangent
Viewpoint

5. Then using Windows Explorer, please DELETE the following programs, if they are present:

C:\Program Files\Windows Ad Tools
C:\Program Files\Wild Tangent
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

6. Next, I need you to move HijackThis to its own folder so that nothing gets deleted by mistake. The easiest way for you now would be as follows:

. Right Click on your Desktop
. Scroll down the menu to "New"
. Left click on "Folder"
. Name Folder "HJT"
.Copy current HijackThis icon from where it now is into the new HJT Folder
. Run HJT from there.

7. Now run HijackThis and, with all windows closed except for HJT, click on SCAN, produce a log and POST it back into this thread.

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Regards,

Trevuren

Hi Disposable Hero, welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your time off.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1) Please download Winhelp2002's Deldomains.inf to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

2) It is now time to run HijackThis with all windows closed excepr for HijackThis, click on SCAN, produce a log and Post it back into this thread.

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Regards,

Trevuren
