i have a trial version of studio 8 installed on my pc and i have the full version of studio 9. when i try installing studio 9 it prompts to uninstall 8 so i click ok. but i get an error saying "the installation support file could not be installed" so i tried deleting everything i could find on my hard drive for pinnacle studio but i still have problems, any help is appreciated

You could try re-installing the v8 trial which may restore that missing support file, then re-try uninstalling.

Alternatively, check that the parent folder for v8 has definitely gone from C:\Program Files. Then open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
Use 'Find' in the 'Edit' menu to find any and all keys labelled STUDIO 8. After each one is found, delete it then press F3 to find the next instance until the Editor says "Finished Searching the Registry".

Now try installing v9.
