hello everyone.

lately I've noticed some weird stuff happening on my PC, I've then performed a couple of scans with the antimalware software I have but I still can't fix all the problems.
Counterspy, ewido, spybot search, destroy AD-aware SE, ATF cleaner and CCleaner have found nothing.
I performed an online system scan with Panda and found out that my Computer is infected with spyware and dialers but no viruses or trojan horses.
I run an online scan with bitdefender and, midway through the scanning process, 64 infections had been identified but could not be healed.
AVG has identified the following infections but couldn't heal them:
Trojan horse downoader.Generic2.WCH. I got rid of it by wiping it off the AVG virus vault.
and 3 infections with downloader. tibs. which AVG could not even move to the virus vault.

Now here is the hijackthis log and thanks a lot in advance :

Hi help-seeker and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time. DO NOT UPGRADE TO SP2 AT THIS TIME
  • Click HERE for the update.
  • Apply the update.
  • REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM
  • Post a fresh Hijack This log
Regards,

Trevuren

Hi again Trevuren and thanks for your precious help;

I have downloaded the service pack 1a for windows but when I tried to install it I received a message stating that the product key is not valid. I did some research on google and found out that the problem I have is perhaps due to the fact that I have a pirated version of windows on my PC.

I have to tell you that when I bought the computer ( it's a pre-owned pc ) , windows was already installed in it and I didn't ask about the key or the licence or anything.

So now I want to know If I must absolutely hire someone to install a new version of windows or if it is possible to fix the viral infection and as soon as the time and budget permit it , I will buy a new windows and hire someone to do the job ?

concerning the threat of a re-infection, I will not connect to the internet during the coming weeks because I will mainly need my computer to pull off offline tasks.

Thanks a lot again.

While we at Geeks to Go understand that you may not have been aware, your copy of Windows is not legitimate. Unfortunately, we are unable to help you any further on this site, as we have a strict policy we adhere to in only helping people who have legitimate copies of Windows. Thank you for understanding
