With that then the best option at this point is a fresh installation as everything in the instructions should have wiped out the old boot, mbr and everything and put a new file it their place. Seeing that didn't happen or the Win7 bcedit would have to be sued to undo the boot.ini then.
I'm going to ask another tech who is more familiar with it to chime in for a minute and offer some assistance.
