can anyone help me out with this. i'm on a wireless router and i can't download anything past .1 kb its horrible. i read something about port forwarding somewhere but it made my head spin, so i'm looking for a little bit a assisstance if someone doesn't mind

Port Forwarding may not help you, as its technology that allows applications from the internet to talk to applications on your computer and vice-versa. Programs such as PcAnywhere for example require port forwarding to be set on the router so the client can talk to the host. The fact that you can download at all means there's another issue somewhere else.
