I have both XP and Vista in this comp and my internet works fine with XP but doesn't work in Vista. I remember the first time i started vista my internet worked but after i downloaded my nvidia drivers and installed them i had to restart and when i did the internet was gone and it keeps saying Identifying...

I would go ahead and delete the connection and then disable the hardware in device manager. Reboot into vista and reenable your hardware and create a new connection. I've had to do this before in windows xp and it worked, but not sure if it'll work the same in vista.

you might also want to double check the drivers for your NIC...make sure that the ones you have are vista compatible...if they are try reinstalling them

I'm guessing they are compatible since they worked the first time and I have re-installed them, but still nothing. This is very weird. Oh, and If it helps I have a router installed and my laptop is wirelessly connected to it.

Well I would probably reinstall your router setup, Also remeber that not everything is completely supported with Vista. You may need to download some update drivers from you nic card provider from their official website.

I would check the device manager and make sure that you nic card is still properly configured and knows which driver to use.
