Earlier I was trying to use disk clean up and after I started it, it got stuck on Calculating: Compress old files. Then I tried to defrag and it gets stuck at 3% and says that it is complete and Most of the disk is still fragmented. Then I tried a Disk Scan and got a window that said Scan could not be completed. Is this a related problem i am not sure just looking for some help on the issue, thank you

I would try cleaning up your system with CCleaner first.

That will work the same and better than the system clean up. Make sure you use it to fix any registry problems. Try the defrag.

If that doesnt work,
download ad-aware at www.lavasoft.com

and run that.
