I tried upgrading Windows Media Player to 9.0 and the install failed with the message "An internal application error has occurred". I then tried reinstalling 7.1 and that failed too with the message "Setup failed - check your Internet connection, available disk space, and permission to install", all of which seem fine to me. Operating system is 98SE. Any help is appreciated!

WMP11 is the latest. Have you tried installing that?

I believe 9.0 is the highest version that works with Windows 98SE, isn't it?
