Change it to 2 passes, set the quality to high / 8000kbit

Use a 25MB or so AVI file, use the export option, the file will go to nerovision / exported video folder

Play it with nero to see what the audio is like

Did it say export successful, and did it go to the exported video folder

yes....I was able to export succesful, but it has not made any difference only the picture seems slower now.
The DVD disc works watching it on the computer but it has audio problems when watching it on a normal DVD.

Set Nero back how it was with fast pass

It will be helpful if you try the VSO convertx with a RW disc so you can check the audio with that

the audio seems to be better on ConvertX when watching the disk on a different DVD- however I am still getting a strange background noise at the same time.
On ConvertX the audio output stream is listed as follows: ac3, 48000Hz, stereo 192 kb/s (Copy)

For some reason the audio works on DVD when I use Nero 6, however it cannot export very much.

Also check if you have any leads connected for mic or headphones in case the interfere
