According to BioStar it is a realtek audio chip

Safest to ask them

Or Nvidia

why would it have anything to do with changing the chipset as my dvds used to be able to burn off of this computer and play without any faults on a dvd player.
I was able to export and burn a short avi file with Nero 6 today and it played without any audio difficulties on the dvd player. I only have problems with Nero 6 when I try to export a longer avi file that lasts beyond 5 minutes.

The motherboard name, and sometimes the chipset are used to find the names of drivers, you don't need to change them

As you can see from the link for BioStar, it lists your motherboard as having Realtek Audio Drivers, which is why it would be best to ask them, or Nvidia which are the correct ones, also they may have been updated since you installed
