Hi there,

I have done the 'Read This First'. But everytime I scan with the full system scan using ad-ware SE Personal, when scanning some file from system volume information directory, my antivir always pops up and found some thread in it, then I deleted all of them. Though, it still happens everytime I scan with ad-ware SE Personal.

Few days ago, I am infected by smitfraud. Then windows offers me this two program for free scan (virusburster and macrovirus). Since I have SmitfraudFix, a can remove the smitfraud from my PC. But still, Virusburster found 2 infected files and Macrovirus found it 11. All of them are registry key.

One more problem, eventhough doesn't bother me a lot, is that at the first time I open windows explorer after booting, always pops up the 'usual' error prompt display ("windows explorer encounters a problem", the one with the option send-don't send to microsoft). But that only happens at the first time after booting.

Please help me with those problems.
Thanks alot.

Here are the HiJackThis log after finish using ATF Cleaner, ad-ware SE Personal full system scan, and Antivir full system scan.

Hi there,

I've done all steps in 'read this first'.

In my PC, 6 infections detected by avg anti-spyware, but 11 infections by macrovirus.. Since my Macrovirus is not registered, I can only remove those threats with avg anti-spyware. But since "read this first" told me to quarantine it, I didn't remove them. Is it dangerous if I just press the 'remove finally' button on the lower left on the quarantine tab in avg anti-spyware?

This is the avg anti-spyware's log :

::Report end

No virus detected in Antivir scan. And I'm wondering why, in step for AVG ANTI-SPYWARE, step number 5 : Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine". Why shouldn't I just choose "Delete" instead of "Quarantine"?

Thanks for your help.

VirusBuster is just another smitraud infection

Next hijack log - in notpad go to FORMAT and click on wordwrap

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.

A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new hijack log.

The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Warning: running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Yup, i've turned them off and then on again..
Thx so far,, but why when I scan again with MACROVIRUS, I still have 11 infection (the same status when I post this topic).

I know nothing about macrovirus and you also have antivir so it could easly be the problem of having 2 active AV's running

You can see what Panda says

Run ActiveScan online virus scan

http://www.pandasoft.../activescan.htm

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Post the results from ActiveScan

I have never been successful scanning with panda online.
But I have never got any problem until now. So I think no need to worry about that infection detected on macrovirus anymore.
I thank u for your help.

Thx alot.
=)
