Please make sure your PC is set to show all hidden files and folders go here for instructions on how to do this. http://pchowtos.co.u...r...=view&id=34

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove and uninstall the following.

VirusRescue

Open Hijackthis and click scan. Then check mark the following entries

Now close all open windows except Hijackthis and click fix checked

Reboot and delete the folders. (if present)

Delete the files. (if present)

Then please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Hi again

have now tried restarting the computer in normal mode and has not restarted in the last 45 minutes, hopefully problem is solved.

Download GMER from http://www.gmer.net/

Right Click the Zip and Select "Extract All"

Double Click gmer.exe to launch the program.

Click on the Rootkit Tab and then click Scan.

It takes a while to run,once complete,copy the results to notepad and save them somewhere safe.

Post those results in the next reply.

[size=7] Hi again,

My computer has been working fine for the past 24 hours, but I still did what you asked with the HJK and I downloaded GMER.

However when I started the rootkit scan the computer rebooted itslef 5 minutes into the scan, this happened on all of the 3 attempts that I have made on the rootkit scan.

When it first started scanning it did come up saying that there was some modifications made to system

Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop:

Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement, leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked, click > scan then > next

You'll see a list of all items found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers).

Copy and paste this log in your next reply. Don't choose the rename option yet! I want to see the log first, because legitimate items can also be present there, such as "wbemtest.exe"

can't run blacklight in safemode and when I try to run it in normal mode it comes up with
Blacklight could aquire necessary priveliges (SEdebug privlige)

-Your computer settings may prevent aquiring these priveliges.
-A malicious program might have disabled these priveliges

Boot into safemode to do this keep tapping F8 on your keyboard while your PC is starting up you will get a menu select safemode.

Open Hijackthis click open the misc tools section > check mark List also minor sections (full) and List empty sections (complete) then click generate Startup list log reboot and post that log here in a reply.

Right Click the Desktop and Select New--> Folder--> Name it SysClean
  • Download the Sysclean Package to the folder you made.
  • Next,download the Virus Pattern Files (Official Pattern Release) to your desktop from Here
  • Right Click and Select Extract All to unzip the folder.
  • Now,from the unzipped folder,move lpt$vpn.XXX file to the SysClean folder.
  • Restart in SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
  • Open the SysClean Folder and doubleclick sysclean.com
  • Be sure Automatically clean or delete detected files is checked.
  • Click the Scan button to begin,please be patient,it will take a little bit to finish.
  • Once complete,verify the log from the scan (SYSCLEAN.LOG) is in the SysClean folder and restart back to Normal Mode.
  • Copy&Paste those results in the next reply.

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:

  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
