Now i decided to do a xp repair like stated and once it went to 100% it stated it is reinstalling windows xp, is this correct. Does this mean i have lost all my work?I turned the pc off when it stated 0% but i faer i have lost all my work.

If you selected "Repair" your data should not be touched. You will have to reinstall your drivers updates etc... but your "my documents" and other things should still be there.
