I'm new at this so I've probabally got a real dumb question. What does one look for after running HighJackThis? I have looked at some different logs that were posted but I can't seem to figure out which items should be removed and which ones should stay. Is that a tutorial that I can download to learn more about this tool?

Thanks!!

Unless you know what you are doing, you shouldn't remove anything by yourself. If you think you are having problems with your computer, you should post your hijackthis log here: http://www.geekstogo...o_Here-f37.html There someone who knows what should stay and what should go will help you. Please be patient, they get many people asking for help so it may take a couple hours, or days for them to get to your post, but eventually you will be helped. If you find that your post is falling back, reply to it with the word BUMP, and it will bring it to the first page.

Bumping will not get you seen any quicker, you must appreciate that we receive many many logs each day and the helpers are all volunteers and do have other commitments. Your log will be checked and replied to as soon as we can.

Regards

Thanks usetobe,

No problem about bumping. I just want to learn how to read HijackThis logs (among other things). I'm thinking about applying to GeekU for training. From some of the comments I've read in the Forums, it's probably well worth the effort.

Thanks again.
