My computer was running slow, so I looked at my processes in "windows task manager" and found that and many others... I looked online and found out it was in my system32 folder, so I moved them to my AVG vault folder manually, it ended, but now it is back. I ran AVG, spybot, and Adware, but they didn't find it. I ran HijackThis and here is the log:

Hello, my name is Kat and I will be helping you today. You should always print my instructions, or save them to your desktop for easy reference. Much of our fixes will be done in Safe mode, and you may not have access to your thread here at that time.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services or Registry Entries found then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt.
  • Finally copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

OK, looks like the tool didn't do what it should. Not to fear, we'll hit it with a bigger hammer. :whistling:

1. Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
  • REBOOT INTO SAFE MODE by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the machine begins to boot, then choosing safe mode from the screen.
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
STAY IN SAFE MODE

2.

3. Reboot normally, and reply here. I need to see:

New HJT log
Report.txt from the SDFix

Download GMER:
  • Unzip it and double-click GMER.exe
  • Click the rootkit-tab and click scan.
  • Once done, click Copy.
  • This will copy the results to clipboard.
  • Paste the results in your next reply.

My family was getting mad at the computer running slow... and I mean slow, so I found this task manager on steroids (Security Task Manager) and it gave me an option to end the processes and delete them or send them to quarantine. I did that and now when I ran this, nothing came up. I included a new HJT report just to let you see if GMER just didn't find anything.

P.S. Out of wonder, is it normal to have that many svchost.exe running?

That is absolutely mind boggling. :whistling: No way in heck that should have worked, yet it did. I've talked to a couple of our experts now, and they're shocked...and are now playing around with that program you found!!

Before we go any further, please do something for me. Reboot your computer completely. Then run HJT, and look to see if all those crazy randomly named 04's come back. If they DO..skip the AVG step, and just post me the HJT log. If they do NOT come back, then proceed with AVG

You do still have a couple of nasties on that machine. Let's use AVG's new Anti Spyware (formerly Ewido) to take care of them for us. :help:

First download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  • Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  • Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files.
  • On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
  • Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close AVG Anti-Spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.
  • Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
  • Lauch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
  • AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
  • If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
  • Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  • Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
  • Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the AVG Anti-Spyware report scan.

Before you begin, you should save these instructions to your desktop, as before. :whistling:

1. Please make sure you can view hidden files and folders:
  • Click Start
  • Double click on “My Computer”
  • Select Tools menu, and click on Folder Options..then click the View tab
  • Under Hidden Files and Folders heading, select “Show hidden files and folders”
  • uncheck the “hide protected operating systems files” options.
  • uncheck the “Hide file extensions for known file types” box
  • Click “yes” to confirm, then click “ok”

2. Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [snvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\snvc.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [snvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\snvc.exe

3. Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

4. Reboot into safe mode. Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

5. Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\Program Files\Party Gaming

6. Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\snvc.exe

7. Reboot normally

8. RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf and select: Install (no need to restart)

9. Generate an uninstall list:
  • Open HijackThis, click “Open Misc Tools Section”
  • Click "Open Uninstall Manager "
  • Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
10. REPLY here. I need to see a new HJT log, and the uninstall list. And please, let me know how everything is running now.

BTW, I meant what I said in chat. A few of us have agreed, you would make an excellent staff member someday if you would like to go through our free training program! Give THIS THREAD a look, and see what you think! :whistling:
