Hi,

Open HijackThis and close all windows except HJT and have it fix the following.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = ;http://10.2.*;http:/...tes01/*;<local>

Then boot to safe mode once again, and run HSfix. Then reboot your computer into normal mode and post a new HijackThis log, as well as the HSFix log which is located at C:/hslog.txt.

Good luck! :tazz:

Hi,

Your log is looking much better, just a few more steps.

Regfix For SlimSheild
Download that, double click, and allow it to merge into the registry. This is to reset what the slimsheild infection did. That was all those 3-letter exes, and the wallpaper you saw that said Warning Danger.

Next, does this look fimilar to you? Did you set this? If not, have HijackThis fix this line.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://manstopxy01/manair

Also, could you send this file to us the one in bold?

C:\Tornado\host\x86-win32\bin\wtxregds.exe
Zip it up, and submit it here Please send it as an attachment. Thanks.

Then reboot, and post a new log.

Good luck! :tazz:

Hi,

Yes, I saw information on the exe I was asking for, but I got mixed results and wasn't 100% sure, which is why I asked for it so we could analyze it. Thanks for clearing that up. Your log looks clean now, just a few suggestions for you. :tazz:

I notice you are running three Anti-Viruses. This can cause conflicts between the AV's and they will not work properly. I know some people think the more protection the better, not so with anti-virus software. I recommend, you remove 2 of the AV's and keep the one you want.

Next, take a look at the following, for prevention tips for the future.

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.
  • Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  • AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  • SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  • SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  • IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  • CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  • Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  • Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.
  • Trillian or Miranda-IM - These are Malware free Instant Messenger programs which allow you to connect to multiple IM services in one program! (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, MSN)
To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein

Good luck and happy surfing! ;)

Hi
Thanks for all the help.

I was aware that the antiviruses caused conflicts so i usually have two disabled and one running. I only installed the other two when i had problems with this open32.exe virus.

Normally i run just Norton Anti-virus and Norton Firewall.

I already have adaware and spybot and pestpatrol, which where not much use ;)

Im using cleanup a lot now and i find it very very usefull.

I have also installed firefox in the hope that its more secure that explorer.

Many thanks again you have been a great help :tazz:
