missng files for ie5.5

i installed ie5.5 on win 98se

ienfo5.ocx was bad or missing

connection wizard\trialoc.dll was mising or bad.

anyone know where i can find them?

I do not see why you cannot reload IE 5.5 over itself. There is also the option to do a repair to IE if you go to add/remove programs and pick IE. When you click on add/remove a window will pop up asking if you would like to repair it.

If you installed IE5.5 you must have done it from a disk, as I don't think that Microsoft supplies it any more. The disk may have some defects that keep some of the files from installing. You may be able to download the files from one of the sites that have .dll downloads. Also you may find that IE5.5 doesn't run all the script on webpages, you may wanat to look into updating to IE6.0

i got ie5.5 up and running now im trying to install outlook express6 seems to have a few bugs in it. but i think im getting them worked out. from what ive read i dont think this computer will take ie6 its really old, gateway sl2150

For future reference you can still get the security patches and various updates for Windows 98 from the Microsoft Download Center even though the Windows Updates for that product have been discontinued.

one thing seems to lead to another LOL now i cant get WM player to install it needed advapi32.dll . i got that put it in win sys folder but i can fig out file path to reg it
