hello all,
I readnamed my pc about a week ago and ever since then i have been getting this message: SQL Server
YOur SQL Server Installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (unknow package ID)PLease rerun setup.

what are the sets to take for this?

do you know what you installed to require SQL in the first place?

not right off hand but more than likely backup appl or connection with an oracle db

an SQL instance (or MSDE which looks like SQL) is generally named the same as the computer it's installed on...i've never tried to rename a pc that was running SQL or MSDE so i can't verify that this is what happened.but i think when you renamed the PC it corrupted whatever SQL instance was on your computer...you'll need to find out what installed it in the first place...and attempt to reinstall that software
