Please help! I am SO frustrated with this amazingautosearch passthrough thing that I'm ready to pull my hair out! I've posted our HJT log below. Any help will be truly appreciated. Many thanks to anyone that can solve this problem.

Yikes! I was so excited to get a reply. I followed your instructions (thank you very much for your expediency) and once I rebooted the amazingautosearch DEMON was still in my computer. Here is my new log...

Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and Run the Program. Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows. Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of 'spsublsp.dll' .

Then reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files if found:

C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE

Here is a quote about what that file is:

Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. Sypware file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers


reboot and lets see a new log. I didnt see amazingautosearch in your log but is it still there?

Ok... I completed the steps that you gave me and I am still getting the amazingautosearch when I open my browser. Here is our latest log. In addition to the amazing autosearch I'm getting popups randomly that say "portal" in the header. This occurs even if my browser is closed. Any thoughts?

I did a search for the Alcxmntr file and deleted it from about 4 other locations. It seems to have cleaned up the log some. Maybe that will be the fix. Here is our current log. I also haven't had any sign of amazingauto... but I'm not 100% sure that it worked yet. Thanks for your help and I'll check back later to see if there is anything else that looks suspicious to you.
