Hi there. I'm trying to restore my compaq presario 2100 with the restore disk's. It says to put the disk in then restart the laptop and follow the on screen instructions. I do that and I no on screen instruction come up. If I try to open the file the comp dosent know what type of file it is. The folder says FACTORY.PQI.

Is there some type of program I have to dowload to read it??

Any help out there??

Thank you

A) check your BIOS settings, make sure CD is before the hard drive in the boot sequence, if you don't know how to do it tell me and i'll guide you.
B)If A is set correctly then are you sure your inserting disk 1?
C) what file are you trying to open?

First screen at boot press F1 i believe, go to the boot tab and make the CD to boot before the hard drive.
