Norton Antivirus scan shows that I have Dc1.exe (Adware.NDotNet)which I have tried to remove using various removal instructions found on the internet but none worked. When I went to delete the files they mentioned in the instructions, they were not where they specified.
I have ran Ad-Aware SE, SpyBots S&D, CWS Shedder, Webroot Spy Sweeper & TDS-3 and removed some minor adware. I rescanned with Norton and the same file (Dc1.exe) still appears. My computer is very sluggish and I need to know if this file or if any other problems could cause this strange behavior.

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

Double click on Hoster you downloaded earlier to the desktop. Choose the 'Restore Original Hosts' button and press OK.

Go to www.trendmicro.com, and then:

1. Click "Free Online Scan".
2. Click "Scan now, it's free".

It'll take a few minutes to download (especially with a dialup connection), so be patient. When it's done:

1. Select all available drives.
2. Check(tick) "Auto Clean".
3. Click "Scan".

When it completes, copy the full filename of any files that cannot be cleaned or deleted and post them when your done with the following fix.

Reboot your computer.

Post back a new log, report any problems and let me know how everything goes.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE do not restart your computer unless asked, restarting can reinfect your computer resulting in us starting the cleaning up process all over!

Hello Njustice...
Thank you so much for analyzing my problem. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on the first step of your recommendation. When I try to download Hoster, I get the following message and I'm not sure what to do:

"The WinZip Wizard cannot open the file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again. If you want to add the file to an archive, first create or open the archive, then drop the file again."

"Cannot open files: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again"

I tried downloading at least 15 times the past couple of days with this computer and then tried with another computer and got this message:

"The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted."

Am I doing something wrong??? :tazz:

Ignore the last post. I searched G2G for Hoster and got it off someone elses thread. The link must have been bad in my thread. I will follow your recommendations and get back to you.
