This thanksgiving a relative wanted to look up something online using my PC, now my pc is all

jacked up. I followed all of the steps provided and I am using Nod32 Antivirus. My symptoms

include:

Any time I open a folder on my computer, WIndows explorer crashes. When I open an IE window (my

homepage is yahoo.com) a little black cursor appears in the websearch box. As soon as I type I

get 3 or 4 pop up windows that fill my entire screen advertising random crap like search.411,

zoo, pc anti-spyware etc. When i close one IE window, ALL the IE windows close. when i try and

reboot, my pc hangs at the windows is shutting down screen and I have to physically power off

my pc.

I have this for sure:

http://www.amaena.co...=...&lid=micros

oft&affid=nm_66973_68e2441e7ce911dbadda00167647fa98_b0c2b777+ad6e3f7abc034751ad48d5714f5ce458

I followed the steps as explained and everytime something scanned, i got new malware in the

results.

Needless to say I am really upset i have spent over 15 hours now running scan after scan and my

pc is still messed up..

here is my hijack file

Hello vwguy and welcome to Geeks to Go

As an introduction, please note that I am not Superhuman, I do not know everything, but what I do know has taken me years to learn. I am happy to pass on this information to you, but please bear in mind that I am also fallible.

Please note that you should have Administrator rights to perform the fixes. Also note that multiple identity PC’s (family PC’s) present a different problem; please tell me if your PC has more than one individual’s setting, but continue with the fix.

Before we get underway, you may wish to print these instructions for easy reference during the fix, although please be aware that many of the required URLs are hyperlinks in the red names shown on your screen. Part of the fix may require you to be in Safe Mode, which will not allow you to access the internet, or my instructions! (Click the Options drop down near the upper right of the topic. Select Print this topic.)

You have some malware and the dreaded Virtumonde (Vundo) infection visible. Let’s see what we can do with the visible stuff first of all.

You appear to have two antivirus (AV) programmes running; NOD32 and Norton. This is bad practice as they will cause slowness and also conflicts. Please uninstall one of them.

Please disable AVGas Guard from running as it will hinder our attempts to change anything. Right click on the orange/multicoloured icon with an S, in the taskbar (near the clock) and uncheck Resident Shield. The icon will change to a grey colour

Please download: Hoster

Please run Hoster (just double click it to open). Choose the Restore Original Hosts button and press OK.

Please delete the VundoFix programme on your PC

Please download a fresh VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log, from normal mode, in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

If Vundofix does not find and delete the files, please try running it bit differently:
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • You will receive a message saying Vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK.
  • When VundoFix re-opens, click Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once the scan is complete, right-click inside the listbox (white box) and click Add more files?
  • Copy & paste the 2 entries below into the top 2 boxes:
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\kkoxxygv.dll
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\vgyxxokk.*
  • Click Add Files and click Close Window.
  • Click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a fresh HiJackThis log, from normal mode.
Please note that your HijackThis log posted is scattered, and frankly they are difficult enough to read without the extra burden. Please ensure that your HJT logs are in single-spaced format:

To remove the double spacing in your log, please do the following:
  • Please go to Start >> Run... and type notepad.exe
  • Hit OK.
  • Now go to Format and uncheck WordWrap.
  • Close Notepad.
  • When posting use PREVIEW POST to check before clicking ADD REPLY
