Hi all my daugher keeps getting a blue screen with white text saying,

STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x00000000, 0xb2000000, 0x00020151)
"MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION"

could this be a cpu, motherboard problem? really dont know where to start,
any help would be gratful.

According to Microsoft this is a hardware error. I would recommend you start by testing your RAM, with Memtest86 "A Stand-alone Memory Diagnostic". This will run from a floppy or CD, which ever you choose.
When you have the results please post then here.

As one of the problems in the article listed you may want to check and see if your processor's heatsink or fan is blocked by dirty. Heat will cause processors to become unstable.
